The OXO Security team has a proven history of developing data and threat protection features that make a real difference in the realm of desktop, mobile applications, and online services. Some examples of this include the Security Policy Advisor, WDAG Office, Classification, Labeling, and Protection (CLP), Protected View sandbox, Safe Documents for Office applications, security polices, document encryption, digital signatures, Information Rights Management, and Data Loss Prevention. As threats continually evolve, so too has our team.

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to join the OXO Security team we’re building in Atlanta and lead the team’s focus on building industry-impacting features for more than 1 billion customers around the world who rely on us to protect them from threats and keep their data secure across Office desktop (Windows & Mac), mobile clients (iOS & Android), and online services.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader and people manager who enjoys security, thrives on addressing real world problems, and is experienced in designing scalable, componentized code. You will lead a team of software engineers at with various experience levels whose mission is to protect customers and their data from attackers.

Responsibilities:
• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of software engineers
• Providing technical leadership for strategic initiatives and guiding the broader team
• Defining the architecture for large complex components with an emphasis on quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability
• Working with Program Management counterpart to define and design new features
• Implementing new features with high quality, validation, and robust deployment plans
• Demonstrating a passion for customers and technology

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of industry experience working on commercial software application or services
• 5 years of leadership experience
• Track record of delivering results through leadership and collaboration.
• Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
• Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Expert development skills in C++ or C# (or other general-purpose programming language)
• Demonstrate proficient engineering fundamentals. Experienced employing concepts like CI/CD, test driven development, and agile methodologies to projects to maximize the quality of the software a team writes together.
• Solid CS fundamentals, fluent in multi-threaded, asynchronous programming, strong inclination for architecting at scale.
• Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
• Good written and oral communication skills

• You’ve studied – you have a BA, BS, or MS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• You’ve coded – you are comfortable in object-oriented languages like C#, C++, or Java; you have a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns; and you’ve got a least 8 years of industry experience as a software engineer to prove it. Experience with React or similar UI toolkits preferred.
• You’ve led – you have at least 2 years of experience leading a team of engineers by setting clear expectations, keeping team members energized, and delivering great results.
• You collaborate – you can explain your work, you can ask great questions, you can listen to your peers and your customers, you can influence without authority, and you like to give and receive feedback.
• You stay focused – you want to ship software that solves real problems for real people, now.
• You’re a professional – you understand that it’s not enough to write working code. It must also be well-designed, easy to test, and easy to add to over time.
