Job Description
Colorado Office Director

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Director of the Colorado Office. The Colorado Office is part of JSIís Health Services Division, which is responsible for JSIís U.S. based portfolio of projects.

The Colorado Office Director will serve in a senior role within JSIís Health Services Division and report directly to the Vice President of the Health Services Division. The Office Director will strive to build an office where all staff have the opportunity to thrive professionally and continue to grow a portfolio of meaningful and impactful work in Colorado, the mountain west region, and nationally. The Office Director will foster an inclusive workplace; cultivate and build upon a foundation of trust; and diligently work to recruit and retain a strong, diverse staff. The ideal candidate is ambitious, strategic, resilient, and performance-oriented with exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities of the position include:
● Lead a team of approximately 20 staff members based primarily in Denver
● Demonstrate a commitment to fulfilling the organizational mission
● Provide vision, insight and strategy for developing new business, recruiting talent, and cultivating intentional and equitable partnerships
● Provide guidance on technical aspects of business development, including proposal writing, contracting, budgeting and partnership development
● Maintain open and transparent communication with staff
● Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure quality and client satisfaction, as well as build an environment of collective responsibility and accountability
● Support staff development and innovation to promote growth at the staff, project, and office levels
● Promote staff wellness, such as but not limited to self-care activities and training
● Participate in JSI-wide, cross-office, and Health Service Division management team activities
● Maintain, build, and develop a portfolio of projects
Qualifications & Requirements
Desired Qualifications and Skills include:
● Strong track record of leadership, including 10-15 years of leading diverse groups of people
● Demonstrated effective communication skills including oral and written presentations of complex topics to a wide array of audience types
● Ability to articulate a compelling vision for the Colorado Office, build enthusiasm, and invite commitment among staff
Demonstrated experience with promoting and operationalizing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace
● Ability to think strategically and systematically and anticipate market changes
● History of successful experience managing or directing projects with various funding sources and client types including local, state, federal, Tribal, and/or private
● Relationships with clients in Colorado and/or the Rocky Mountain region and ability to build strategic relationships with diverse professional and community-based organizations
● Recognized expertise in subject matter relevant to JSI overall and the Colorado Office specifically (e.g., health centers and primary care; health service delivery; systems thinking; public health; social justice and health equity; behavioral health; environment and climate change; health care policy; women, children, and family health; and health care innovation)
● Recognized technical expertise in areas relevant to JSIís portfolio (e.g., needs assessment, capacity building, applied research and evaluation, health communication, implementation science)
● Ability to be agile and multitask, balancing management responsibilities with business development and consulting work
● Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Google Suite products
● Relevant advanced degree (e.g., Masters or Ph.D.
