The Tom Joyner Foundation & Tyson Foods Launch Scholarship for Students at HBCUs Majoring in Business & Agricu

The Tom Joyner Foundation and Tyson Foods have partnered to launch the TScholar Program for sophomores and juniors majoring in business and agriculture at selected Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
As part of the partnership, Tyson Foods will donate $30,000 to the Tom Joyner Foundation for 12 TScholars at these four HBCUs: Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, Fla., North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, N.C., Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tenn., and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Pine Bluff, Ark. Students also will be eligible to receive a mentored internship at a Tyson Foods facility for the summer of 2015. Winners will be announced the week of July 15, 2014.
“This new scholarship is a sign that Tyson Foods shares my love and passion for HBCUs,” said Tom Joyner, founder and chairman of the Tom Joyner Foundation and host of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show. “These scholarships will go a long way to helping these students fulfill their dreams.”

Students must have a grade point average of 2.75/4.0 or better and must complete the application available from the Tom Joyner Foundation (http://tomjoynerfoundation.org/tom-joyner-foundation-tyson-foods-scholarship/). Access to the application system is controlled by designated Faculty Representatives in the respective HBCUs’ Schools of Business and Agriculture. To gain access to the online application, students must speak with the Faculty Representative at their school. Applications submitted in any other format will be discarded. To be eligible, students must complete all required fields.
